Where Paint Meets Thread

Discover a whole new way to combine art and quilting! In this creative class, you'll begin by painting flowers, birds, animals, or landscapes directly onto fabric. Then, using free motion quilting, you'll add texture, movement, and detail that brings your artwork to life. You'll be amazed at how quilting can transform a painted image into a one-of-a-kind work of art.

This class is all about experimenting, having fun, and stretching your creative muscles in a relaxed, encouraging environment. Whether you're an experienced quilter or looking to try something completely different, you'll leave with new techniques, fresh inspiration, and a beautiful piece that's uniquely yours.

Kits will be available for purchase. Paints and Brushes will be provided.

Supply list:

• Sewing Machine
• New needle for quilting, size 10-14
• Free Motion Foot
• Quilting gloves – optional
• Paint shirt
• White cotton fabric – at least 14” x 16”
• Backing fabric – this could be a piece of the white fabric.
• Quilt batting – approximately 14” x 16” – I prefer fusible, but your choice. If not fusible, bring pins to hold the quilt layers together.
• Thread – Black and a neutral (gray or light beige) or any color of your choice. (Will depend on what you paint and the color you want to highlight the flowers and then the background.)
• Thread snips/scissors
• Erasable fabric pen - optional
